The 37th SWBA Season will start soon after the Draft on March 23, 2024 from Goodyear Ballpark.

In the 2023 season, the Dobson Ranch Bashers and Jackson Holy Cows both finished with league-best 106-56 records. The California Coolers topped the American League with a 103-59 finish. The San Diego Tigersharks were the 4th team with 100 or more victories. The Jackson Holy Cows swept the World Series to win their franchise’s first championship, with Kyle Higashioka being named World Series MVP.

In the 2022 campaign, the St. Charles Saints came back from a 3 games to 1 deficit to defeat the Batavia Muckdogs in the 2022 SWBA World Series. Austin Riley was named World Series MVP. We also had an exciting end to the regular season as the Arizona Arrows finished on a 12-2 run to force a tie-breaker with the SouthWest Roughnecks. Check out the BOXSCORE from their one-game playoff.

The Harlingen Aztecs won their first SWBA World Series in the 2021 season by defeating the Batavia Muckdogs in 6 games. Marcell Ozuna was named World Series MVP.

The Bronx Bombers defeated the San Diego Tigersharks in the 2020 World Series. J.D. Davis was named World Series MVP, hitting .458/.519/1.083 with 5 home runs.

The Dobson Ranch Bashers won the 2019 World Series by sweeping the AL Wild Card Hayward Outlaws (now Bronx Bombers). Manny Machado hit .353/.421/.588 with a HR and 4 RBI to earn Series MVP.

The first item of business we had prior to starting the 2019 season was switching games. We had been with the Pursue the Pennant/Diamond Mind game since the league started in 1988. We had some discussion and decided that a switch was needed to keep up with the changes Major League Baseball and its corresponding PC gaming community are undergoing. We decided that ActionPC Baseball by Dave Koch Sports was the best way to. So, here we are…

Our 31st Season saw the Chatham Bluefish win their 5th World Series. They won four consecutive titles from 2007-2010. The franchise also won titles in 1992 (Arizona Apaches) and 1989 (Tempe Tigers).

We kicked off 2020 by holding our draft at the Goodyear Ballpark before and during a Cactus League Spring Training game. It was our 7th consecutive year drafting there. As always, we were treated like royalty and had an incredible time. Hands down the best draft venue ever. Our 2014 draft was featured on the cover of the local West Valley View newspaper: CLICK HERE to view.

The SouthWest Baseball Association is an internet baseball simulation league which was established in March 1988 using a combination of the Pursue the Pennant board game and computer game which eventually evolved into the Diamond Mind Baseball simulation that we used until the 2019 season. Managers Robert White of the California Coolers and Chris Dugan of the Pennsylvania Sluggers have been around since day one, along with original commissioner and manager of the Arizona Arrows, Joe Hornback. Dennis Michurski and his Minnesota Mudhens have been in the league since the first expansion in 1990. Steve Hamilton took over the Jersey Shore Tides in 1991 and has been in the league as the Hannibal Cannibals since. Alex Kilanowski has run the SouthWest Roughnecks franchise since its inception in 1992 and Dave Kruper has done likewise, when his Dobson Ranch Bashers began play in the 1994 season. Dave became the 2nd ever commissioner at the end of the 2010 season. Hover your mouse over the Archives menu item above for a feel of the rich history of our league.

We strive to keep a good list of potential backup managers, so if you like what you see, click on the Contact Us menu item and fill out the Managers Needed form. Enjoy your visit to our website….
