Welcome to the SWBA
|
The 25th season has begun for the SouthWest Baseball Association. The SWBA Draft was held March 10th. Check out our archives for a feel of the rich history of our league. For the first time since 2006, someone besides the Chatham Bluefish won the SWBA World Series. Brandon Orlando and the St. Charles Saints keep the Kevin Griffin Memorial Trophy in the Jackson Division by defeating the San Diego Tigersharks in seven games. The post-season can be viewed here, by clicking the Playoffs button at the top menu. The SouthWest Baseball Association is an internet baseball simulation league which was established in March 1988 using a combination of the Pursue the Pennant board game and computer game which eventually evolved into the Diamond Mind Baseball simulation that we currently use. Managers Robert White of the California Coolers and Chris Dugan of the Pennsylvania Sluggers have been around since day one, along with original commissioner and manager of the Arizona Arrows, Joe Hornback. Dennis Michurski has been in the league since the first expansion in 1990. Alex Kilanowski has run the SouthWest Roughnecks franchise since its inception in 1992 and Dave Kruper has done likewise, since his Dobson Ranch Bashers began play in the 1994 season. Dave became the 2nd ever commissioner at the end of the 2010 season. We strive to keep a good list of potential backup managers, so if you like what you see, click on the contact info above and fill out the managers needed form. Enjoy your visit to our website….
